Let's look at some Principles behind this text (and I don't even agree with my interpretation of things here);
無"智"亦無"得", 以無所得故
"智" is said to mean the "Great knowledge or Great Wisdom" which is "大智慧" and that's the entirety of the "般若波罗蜜多心经" in one single Word. And that the next word of "得" would mean the attainment of the final voyage of life; that is Nirvana "功德圆满" or "湼槃". If one reads the first part literally 無"智"亦無"得"; it sounds like if that "If one does not Realize the "Great Knowledge" and therefore one will not get to achieve the intended Journey".
But "無智" is a funny thing, it is in the essence of one's realization that one is not filled with knowledge (or in this case, will one really know if the right knowledge was attained!). And that is ridiculous to indeed say that one will ever really realize the attainment of such "Divine knowledge" because if that's true; of the words of the MANTRA, then one at that point would have been at the verge of the state of Nirvana. And don't forget that the beginning of the Mantra keeps on mentioning that "色即是空, 空即是色", in that ALL things are EMPTY anyway; and at that State of Mind, ONE attain that "EMPTYness" or "NOTHINGness" where "無眼耳鼻舌身意, 無色聲香味觸法".
"無智" is so important here in the principles within MANTRA in that it is the state of mind of one knowing that one is "Without Knowledge" or "Without Wisdom", that one pursues that "True Knowledge of Wisdom" and ironically when finally one finally presumably really attained that "Great Wisdom", at the state of Nirvana that "Knowledge suddenly becomes NO MEANING" anymore because that final state of mind is "空" EMPTY. The True Freedom from the "Pain and Sufferings of Re-Birth" STOPS when there isn't any more cycle of Re-Birth when the state of mind is "空" EMPTY.
So, I ask myself, why bother! as nothing is REAL in this world if we truthfully believe about the Concept of "空" EMPTY. As we live in a world of "有眼耳鼻舌身意, 有色聲香味觸法"; because we hold consciousness in this world by our Eyes, Ears, Nose, Tongue, Body, and Mind in the physical body using them to learn and yearn relentless for the Colors, Sounds, Smells, Taste, Touch, and Thoughts in this physical world. The MANTRA urge believers to embrace ""無眼耳鼻舌身意, 無色聲香味觸法" that is to give up the consciousness of all Senses. Hence, Give up all your Senses and that will remove all your Sufferings and Cravings for the worldly things presented through 色聲香味觸法!
As a simple man, let me say something about
無"智"亦無"得", 以無所得故,
to simply mean "If you do not get knowledge then you get nothing, and when you start suffering endlessly; don't start complaining about it"
So, What is knowledge!
Is it just about that "般若大智慧 Great Wisdom" (something that no one really know what it is, which is only still an IDEA about Life); should everyone then, start that search of the so called "Great Wisdom" and abandoned all other "Knowledge" which has no meaning because there are only worldly things exist in the 颠倒梦想的世界 fiction of our imaginations in the physical world we think we live in! The pursue of "any other knowledge" would create 渴望 more craving in this physical world until the day one seize to exist.
Scary though! isn't it?
"無智"亦"無得", 以"無所得"故
As a simple being, I like to take it simple and look at iy this way:
"Pursue the knowledge you desire (what ever it may be) and be very good at it. If you love cooking, go ahead and study the knowledge of cooking, and that you may or will never be the best chef in this world (and it doesn't matter). When you do something in passion and you like what you are doing, it does not matter if you have only one audience or no audience (in many case, you are always your own audience), you have achieve something for your own self and not for someone else. It is when one stops to pursue any knowledge with passion and that is where one really never get anything in this life."
